Philanthropy 2.0

  • Science, Technology and Medicine
Most important. Science, Technology and Medicine is what's going to take us to "Abundance" through Exponential Technologies.

  • Integrating Governments, Implementing Policies

I have access to Governments.
I can work with Governments around the world as an advisor; help Governments with formulating policies, implementing plans.
Better Economic, Education policies. Democracy. Development.

  • Social Change
I can influence people. I can change people's hearts and minds. Inspire. Ignite. Develop passion towards great things. Change habits, tc.

  • Economics
I'll work on the Economics.
Current ideas:

Win-win, Positive-sum Games. [1]
Business as usual; Only difference: focusing on making eveyone (including consumers) win.

Creative Capitalism
Originator: Bill Gates.
In Brief: Market-based Economy; but "incentives" that encourage the Market to behave in certain ways that is good for solving problems, like reducing poverty, better healthcare, etc.

Social Business
 Originator: Prof. Muhammad Yunus
Idea In brief: Start a business. Focus only on solving Social problems, not on making profits. You may take away only the portion that you invested. The rest of the profit would be reinvested.

Running businesses around Social Welfare, Social Problems.
Originator: Prof. Michael Porter
Idea In brief: Social problems are huge (e.g., taking a million people out of poverty), requiring huge amounts of resources (e.g., money, etc.). So starting a business around a social problem, that scales (makes profit and grows and reinvests), is the way. Business principles applied to social problems help businesses win bigger in the long run.
