• বিজিবি-বিজিপি (BGB - BGP) পতাকা বৈঠক : ইয়াবা ও মানব পাচার বন্ধে যৌথ অভিযানে সম্মত বাংলাদেশ ও মিয়ানমার (prothom-alo.com) 

"বর্ডার গার্ড বাংলাদেশ (বিজিবি) ও মিয়ানমারের সীমান্তরক্ষী বর্ডার গার্ড পুলিশ (বিজিপি) সেক্টর কমান্ডার পর্যায়ে পতাকা বৈঠক গতকাল বৃহস্পতিবার সকালে মিয়ানমারের মংডু শহরে অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছে। বৈঠকে ইয়াবা ও মানব পাচার বন্ধে দুই দেশ যৌথ অভিযান পরিচালনায় সম্মত হয়েছে।  
বৈঠকে ২৮ সদস্যের বাংলাদেশ প্রতিনিধিদলের নেতৃত্ব দেন চট্টগ্রাম অঞ্চলের কমান্ডার ব্রিগেডিয়ার জেনারেল হাবিবুল করিম। সঙ্গে ছিলেন বিজিবি সদর দপ্তরের স্টাফ অফিসার কর্নেল সেলিম মাহমুদ চৌধুরী, বিজিবি কক্সবাজার সেক্টরের কমান্ডার কর্নেল খোন্দকার ফরিদ হাসান, বান্দরবান সেক্টরের কমান্ডার কর্নেল ওয়ালি উর রহমান প্রমুখ। ১৮ সদস্যের মিয়ানমার প্রতিনিধিদলের নেতৃত্ব দেন সে দেশের বর্ডার গার্ড পুলিশের ১ নম্বর সেক্টরের পরিচালক ইউ থোন থোন। 
ব্রিগেডিয়ার জেনারেল হাবিবুল করিম বলেন, ইয়াবার বিরুদ্ধে যৌথ অভিযান পরিচালনা করতে সম্মত হয়েছে মিয়ানমার পুলিশ। মানব পাচার প্রতিরোধেও তারা সহযোগিতার আশ্বাস দিয়েছে।"

Russia - Ukraine Relations

• Ukraine, Russia Reach Deal on Natural-Gas Dispute : Agreement Averts Threat of Gas Shortages in Europe This Winter (Wall Street Journal)

"Officials said they hoped the breakthrough would herald a broader thaw in relations between Moscow and Kiev. 

Russian gas accounted for 39% of EU’s natural-gas imports last year, with around half of those supplies flowing through Ukraine. 

The short-term gas deal underscores the close economic ties that bind Europe, Russia and Ukraine despite the conflict in Ukraine. It comes on the eve of a changeover in Brussels: a new European Commission team takes office this weekend under former Luxembourg Prime Minister Jean-Claude Juncker, who has had warm relations with Russian PresidentVladimir Putin in the past. 

Ukraine is also due to receive $500 million from the World Bank by December, and officials confirmed that Kiev will be able to channel some of the aid it has already received from the IMF into gas payments if needed."

India

"India's government has banned first class air travel for bureaucrats, meetings in five-star hotels and purchases of cars in a series of tough austerity measures.
The moves are aimed at achieving a fiscal deficit target of 4.1% of the gross domestic product for this year."
